Requirements
  • Python 3.10 or newer and Git; the included tool uses only the Python standard library, without pip install.
  • VS Code installed separately; a terminal and a fictional or authorized project.
  • No accounts, models, subscriptions, API credits or paid extensions are included.
Tested compatibility
  • Local CLI 1.0.2: Windows 20 passed and one symlink test skipped; Linux 21 passed. Exercise and solutions: 8/8 passed on both systems.
  • The three terminal profiles passed smoke checks. Native IDE GUI, account authentication and automatic chat integration were not certified.
Limits
  • Independent educational material, without official affiliation or certification.
  • The included RAG is offline lexical retrieval: no model, embeddings, vector search, MCP server or automatic chat integration.
  • The index stores readable text; keeping it outside Git does not prevent IDE or extension access. The secret scanner is heuristic.
  • Sending excerpts to a remote model transmits them to that provider; use only data you are explicitly authorized to share.
  • No guaranteed token savings, data-leak prevention, universal compatibility or production results.
